Short answer: we checked who ranks at the top of Google Maps in Hisar for four agency searches on 26 October 2026. All 14 businesses in the top five showed a local street address, a rating between 4.7 and 5.0, and between 22 and 305 Google reviews, with a median of 78. That is about three times the median for the same searches in Fatehabad. To rank in Hisar you need a real Hisar address and a steady flow of reviews; a profile from outside the city did not make the top 20.
We are based in Fatehabad, about 50 km from Hisar, and Hisar is the biggest market near us. Before deciding how to compete there, we looked at who already wins. We have not named the businesses, because the pattern is what matters, not the names. The same steps apply to any local business in Hisar, whether you are a clinic, a coaching centre or a shop.
How we checked
On 26 October 2026 we pulled Google Maps results from a point in central Hisar for four searches: “website designer”, “seo company”, “digital marketing agency” and “web development company”. For each we noted the top five businesses, their rating, their number of Google reviews and their address. We ran the same searches from Fatehabad for comparison. Results shift with the searcher’s exact location, device and time, so treat this as one snapshot.

Five patterns stand out:
- Every one shows a local street address. They cluster around Railway Road and the RD City Centre, Urban Estate II, and Sectors 14 and 15.
- Reviews are the gap. The middle business had 78 reviews, and four had more than 140. In Fatehabad the middle number was 27.
- Ratings are high but not perfect. Everyone was between 4.7 and 5.0, and nobody below 4.7 made the top five.
- The same names repeat. Six businesses showed up in two of the four searches, probably because their categories and services cover related searches.
- Some put the city or the service in their name. Three of the 14 have “Hisar” in their business name. More on that below.
What Google says decides local ranking
Google’s page says local results are “mainly based on relevance, distance, and popularity”, that distance is how far each business is from the person searching, and that “more reviews and positive ratings can help your business’s local ranking”. It also says there is no way to request or pay for a better local ranking. Our Hisar numbers fit that: distance decides who is in the race at all, and reviews and relevance help decide the order. The order is not simply by review count; the top result for “website designer” had fewer reviews than the second.
Should you put “Hisar” in your business name?
Three of the top 14 have the city in their name, and it may help them match searches. But Google’s guidelines for representing your business say to represent your business as it is consistently known in the real world, across signage, stationery and other branding. If “Hisar” is part of your registered name and your signboard, fine. If it is added only for Google, the profile can be suspended, and that costs far more than the ranking gain.
How to rank on Google Maps in Hisar: a plan
- A real, visitable address in Hisar with permanent signage, where you meet customers during your listed hours.
- The most specific primary category, then only the extra categories that match real services.
- Every service listed in the words customers use, with a short description each.
- A steady review routine: ask every happy customer, one at a time, with a short link on WhatsApp. Aim for a few every week, not a burst.
- A reply to every review, good or bad, within a day or two.
- Weekly posts and real photos of your work, team and premises.
- A page on your website about your Hisar service, with the same name, address and phone as the profile.
If you are outside Hisar but want Hisar customers
This is our own situation. Our Fatehabad profile lists Hisar as a service area, yet from central Hisar it did not appear in the top 20 for any of the four searches. A service area tells Google where you work; it does not make you closer.
